Terms of Service
Last updated:
These terms explain the deal between you and PDND. We've kept them as short and plain as we can, because nobody should need a law degree to set a focus timer.
1. Who we are
PDND, short for “Please, Do Not Disturb” (the “Service”), is a do-not-disturb timer with shareable status pages, available at pleasednd.com. It is operated by R2A TECHNOLOGY LTDA (Rômulo Alves's company) (“we”, “us”).
- Operator: R2A TECHNOLOGY LTDA (Rômulo Alves's company), based in Brazil
- CNPJ: 43.002.719/0001-74
- Address: Rua Reinaldo Klein, 177, Sapiranga, RS, 93800-512, Brazil
- Email: [email protected]
2. Agreeing to these terms
By creating an account or using PDND, you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
If you only open a status link someone shared with you, you don't need an account. The sections on acceptable use, disclaimers and liability still apply to your use of that page.
3. Who can use PDND
- You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract.
- Your account is for one person. Please give us accurate details.
- You can't use PDND if the law where you live doesn't allow it, or if we've previously closed your account for breaking these terms.
4. Your account
You sign up with your name, email address and a password, and you confirm your email before signing in. You're responsible for keeping your password safe and for what happens in your account.
API access tokens act on your behalf, just like your password. Keep them secret, and revoke any token you think has leaked from the Developers page. If you notice anything suspicious, email us at [email protected].
5. Price and payment
- PDND is a paid service with a single plan: US$5 one-time, for lifetime access with unlimited DND status shares. There is no free plan and no free trial.
- Payment is required once, when you sign up. It is not a subscription: nothing renews and you won't be charged again. “Lifetime” means for as long as we operate PDND.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
- Prices are in US dollars. Your bank or card issuer may add currency conversion or foreign transaction fees.
- Access starts once the payment goes through. If the payment is refunded or reversed, access ends.
- Purchases are final, except as described in our Refund Policy or required by law.
- We may change the price for new purchases. That never affects a purchase you've already made.
- If you signed up before PDND switched to a one-time price, your existing plan continues under the terms you signed up with, and you can manage it from the Billing page.
6. Status links are unlisted, not secret
Each status link is a long, random URL. It isn't listed anywhere and we ask search engines not to index it, but anyone who has the link can see the status: the display name you chose, whether you can be disturbed, and when your current session ends. If someone forwards your link, whoever receives it can see it too.
You decide who gets your links, and you can delete a link at any time to make it stop working. Please don't put sensitive information in display names or labels.
7. The API
You can use the API to automate your own PDND account, for example from your calendar, iOS Shortcuts or scripts. We may apply rate limits and change or retire API features over time; we'll try to give reasonable notice of breaking changes. Don't use the API to overload the Service or to access anyone else's data.
8. Acceptable use
Be a good neighbor. When using PDND, you agree not to:
- break the law or help anyone else break it;
- use display names, labels or links to harass, threaten, impersonate or mislead anyone;
- try to access other people's accounts or data, or probe, scan, or get around our security, rate limits or captcha;
- overload, disrupt or scrape the Service, including through the API or push notifications;
- upload malware or anything designed to cause harm;
- resell, sublicense or offer PDND as part of another service without our written permission;
- copy or reverse-engineer the Service, except where the law specifically allows it.
9. Your content
The labels and display names you create are yours. You give us permission to store, process and show them only as needed to run PDND, for example showing a display name on its status page. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies we must keep by law.
10. Our stuff
PDND's software, design, name and logo belong to us. Once you've paid (and for as long as your access is active), we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service under these terms. Nothing else is transferred to you.
11. Suspension and termination
You can stop using PDND at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account by emailing [email protected].
We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if you don't pay, if the law requires it, or to protect the Service or other people. Where it's reasonable, we'll tell you first and give you a chance to fix things. If we decide to shut PDND down entirely, we'll give you reasonable notice first.
12. Changes to the Service
PDND will evolve. We may add, change or remove features. If a change significantly reduces what you paid for, we'll let you know in advance.
13. Disclaimers
We work hard to keep PDND reliable, but it is provided “as is” and “as available”. Timers, status pages and notifications depend on your device, browser, network and third-party push services (like those run by Apple, Google, Mozilla and Microsoft), so notifications can be delayed or not delivered at all.
PDND is not designed for emergencies or anything safety-critical. Don't rely on it when someone really needs to reach you.
Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have as a consumer that can't be waived under the law that applies to you.
14. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows:
- we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, such as lost profits, lost data, or an interruption you missed (or didn't);
- our total liability for any claim relating to PDND is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event that led to the claim.
These limits don't apply to liability that can't be limited by law, such as liability for fraud, gross negligence or willful misconduct, or mandatory consumer protections.
15. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Brazil. Disputes will be handled by the courts of Sapiranga, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, without prejudice to any right consumers have under Brazilian law to bring claims in the courts of their own domicile. If you're a consumer outside Brazil, you also keep any mandatory protections of the country where you live.
Before going formal, please email us at [email protected]. Most problems get solved faster that way.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll change the “Last updated” date above. If a change is significant, we'll let you know by email or in the app before it takes effect. If you keep using PDND after that, you accept the new terms; if you don't accept them, you can stop using PDND and ask us to delete your account.
